Zoho CRM
Zoho CRM is an alternative online software for SMB that empowers organizations with a complete customer relationship lifecycle management software for managing organization-wide Sales, Marketing, Customer Support & Service and Inventory Management in a single business system.

SugarCRM and Zoho CRM, despite their seemingly different names, are in fact eerily similar in many ways. Both claim to revolutionize sales, automate leads and generally make businesses run smoother than a greased otter on a water slide. They exist in the cloud (which, as we all know, is just someone else’s computer), but also generously allow on-premise installation for those who prefer their software lurking in a basement. They both have AI features, presumably to tell you things you already suspected but with more authority and they integrate with all sorts of other business tools, so you can spend even more time wondering why none of your apps ever quite talk to each other the way they should.

SugarCRM, being the slightly older of the two, emerged in 2004 from the tech-savvy depths of the United States and has since made itself indispensable to mid-to-large companies who enjoy wrestling with highly customizable, open-source software. It has a certain rugged charm, like an old-school sci-fi spaceship: sturdy, powerful and requiring a well-trained crew to keep it from spiraling into chaos. It takes workflow automation and analytics very seriously, as if it were personally offended by inefficiency and finds itself at home in industries like finance, healthcare and manufacturing—places where paperwork breeds like rabbits and needs an iron-fisted AI overlord to keep it in check.

Zoho CRM, on the other hand, hails from India and has been charming small-to-medium businesses and startups since 2005 with its affordability and suspiciously friendly user interface. Unlike its more serious American cousin, Zoho prefers to be an entire ecosystem rather than just a CRM, offering everything from email to invoicing to an app that probably reminds you to water your plants. It’s the sort of software that doesn’t just help you work—it wants to be your friend. And while it may lack the raw, open-source customizability of SugarCRM, it makes up for it by not requiring a team of trained professionals to keep it from imploding.
