Jive
Jive’s enterprise social networking platform allows you to engage employees, customers, and the social web. Increase the efficiency of internal communication, build brand loyalty, and monitor customer chatter and ideas, all from one central location. Say good bye to your intranet, multiple logins for scattered enterprise apps, and being out of the loop; the Jive Engage platform integrates the social networking tools you love and need so you can focus on what matters.

Salesforce Chatter
With Chatter, it’s easy to work together and know everything that’s happening in your company. Updates on people, groups, documents, and your application data come straight to you in real-time feeds. It's better than alternative solutions for Salesforce users.
Both Jive and Salesforce Chatter are essentially highly evolved chatty little creatures in the vast digital cosmos of corporate communication. They both do the same basic thing: let you talk to your colleagues, share files and create updates like some sort of digital office water cooler. They provide instant feedback, allowing teams to engage in real-time. And, should you wish, they integrate neatly into the rest of your business tools, so you can spend more time collaborating and less time sorting through endless email chains. Very efficient, if you don’t mind the occasional post about a “team-building exercise” or a cat meme.

Now, Jive, the older of the two, is like a well-meaning librarian who’s spent years trying to organize the universe’s endless knowledge into neat little piles. It’s been around since 2001, based somewhere in the U.S. and it’s designed for the sort of vast, sprawling enterprises that need to communicate across the galaxy (or at least several continents). It’s a bit more flexible, offering features to help build communities, manage content and analyze data. Think of it as the social network for the corporate world, with more bells, whistles and the occasional kazoo.

Salesforce Chatter, however, is like that overly enthusiastic intern who just can't stop talking about the CRM system. Born in 2010 and built by Salesforce (also in the U.S.), Chatter integrates seamlessly with Salesforce’s vast empire of customer relationship management tools. It’s all about keeping your sales team happily chatting while diving into the customer data abyss, making sure no sales lead is ever left behind. It’s not as wide-ranging as Jive, but if you live in the Salesforce universe, it's the perfect little companion to keep you socializing, selling and engaging—right inside your CRM.
