Notion has released Notion Mail - email client for Gmail that integrates with Notion and uses AI to help users organize their emails, draft responses, schedule meetings and search across messages. Ill allows to separate their inbox into “views” or folders. The feature uses Notion AI to auto-label emails on a particular topic and move them into a separate topic-specific inbox. The tool comes from Skiff, an end-to-end encrypted collaboration platform Notion acquired in 2024 for an undisclosed sum. It's free but has monthly usage limits that can be removed with paid Notion tier.

Design platform Canva is adding a suite of new AI features called Canva AI, that includes an AI assistant, the ability to create apps with prompts, support for spreadsheets and AI-powered editing tools. The AI assistant can perform a host of tasks, from creating images according to your instructions, to coming up with design ideas — say, collateral for social media or mock-ups for printing. Another tool Canva Code can be prompted to create mini-apps, like interactive maps or custom calculators, that can then be integrated in designs. One more tool allows users to point and click to modify artifacts in photos, generate background or change its lighting and layout. This feature set seems aimed at helping the company compete with Adobe Photoshop that is actively adding such AI-tools.

Google is adding new AI features to Workspace. One of them - Workspace Flows is a tool designed to automate multistep processes such as updating spreadsheets and digging through documents for information. Flows can tap Gems, Google’s brand of custom AI-powered chatbots, to handle specialized tasks and it can also integrate with apps like Google Drive to retrieve data. You can simply describe what you need in plain language and Workspace Flows will design and build sophisticated, logic-driven flows. Google has recently eliminated additional fees for AI workspace features, though it did increase the price of Workspace plans. Also, Google Docs will soon get the ability to convert drafts into podcast-style overviews (like NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews) and revise snippets of copy.

Hosting platform WordPress launched a new free AI website builder that allows anyone to create a functioning website. It's targeted at entrepreneurs, freelancers, bloggers and can't be used to create more advanced websites like e-commerce stores. To use the new tool, users engage with an AI chatbot in a conversational style to design the website with their own text and images and to configure the site’s layout. To get started, users first type in a prompt that explains their website idea — like “build a website for my coffee shop.” The new service may help WordPress better compete with companies like Squarespace and Wix, which offer AI builders to speed up site creation and design.

ESET has upgraded its consumer antivirus ESET HOME Security. Among the new marvels are ESET Folder Guard — which, one imagines, stands sternly in front of your files like an overzealous bouncer — and Multithread Scanning, a feature that sounds like it should require goggles and a lab coat. These improvements aim to thwart the ever-growing hordes of AI-driven cyber nasties, from ransomware to phishing scams, which now evolve faster than a hyperactive soap opera plot. Naturally, it runs on all major operating systems — Windows, macOS, Android, iOS — and watches over smart home devices like a digital nanny with trust issues. Even old favorites like the Link Scanner and Password Manager got a tune-up, presumably because ESET figured the internet wasn’t getting any less terrifying.

TeamViewer has announced an integration with Google Meet, enabling seamless remote support and enhancing workplace collaboration. Now, instead of the traditional "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" shouted across a video call, IT wizards can swoop in mid-meeting, take over the problem child computer and wrestle it into submission without anyone needing to install anything or — heaven forbid — open a second app. End-users, blissfully unaware of the technological sorcery happening behind the scenes, get whisked into the session via an automatic download that happens faster than you can say "Why isn’t my camera working?" The whole setup transforms tech support from an awkward back-and-forth into a seamless, slightly uncanny display of remote omnipresence, leaving more time for teams to get back to the important business of pretending to pay attention.
