Salesforce has quietly snapped up Moonhub, a startup building AI to vet and hire talent. Moonhub is shutting down and the company’s team will be joining Salesforce. Moonhub was founded in 2022, raised $14.4 up to date and has hundreds of customers, including Fortune 500 companies.. It has developed a range of tools designed to help companies recruit, evaluate and hire job candidates. Moonhub’s AI agents can automatically identify candidates for roles, assisting with tasks such as onboarding and payroll management. For Salesforce it's one more step in AI-agent field that the company is advancing.

Salesforce is acquiring cloud-based AI data management platform Informatica for $8 billion. The deal will help Salesforce expand its data management tools, gain greater control over how customers’ business data is managed and used and improve its ability to build AI agents. “Truly autonomous, trusted AI agents need the most contextual understanding possible, which means access to big amounts of data,” said Steve Fisher, president and chief technology officer of Salesforce. “Combining the advanced capabilities of the Informatica platform with our Agentforce platform delivers just that.” This deal with Informatica is Salesforce’s largest acquisition since its $28 billion buy-out of Slack in 2021.

Shopify has added AI store builder for users to set up storefronts using a single prompt. To use the tool, users first have to enter a prompt that describes their brand. For example, “tennis gear and stylish athleisure.” Shopify’s AI then generates a ready-to-launch storefront and merchants can then manually customize their store within the editor. With the help of AI generator you can create elements (such as banners) without knowing how to code. The e-commerce platform also upgraded Sidekick, its AI commerce assistant, with new voice chat and screen sharing capabilities. The new public theme called “Horizon” includes a built-in AI to assist merchants in adjusting their designs as they wish. It’s also the first theme to include “Theme Blocks,” which are essentially building blocks that merchants can use to customize how their online store looks without touching any code.

Genetec now allows to expand ALPR-based forensic video search capabilities with the ALPR Analysis Reports add-on. It enables investigators to quickly narrow down a pool of suspects using vehicle behaviors, including their driving speed and driving patterns. In fact, this is broken down into two tasks: Cohort analysis and Time/speed analysis. Starting with a known license plate number, with the cohort analysis task, you can effectively recognize which vehicles are consistently traveling together (that is, a cohort). Instead of spending hours looking through various read reports to try to identify when multiple vehicles are traveling together, this task outputs the information you need swiftly. With the time and speed analysis task, you can now analyze thousands of reads within seconds to identify potential suspects with outlier behavior.

Video conferencing service Google Meet has introduced a new AI-based feature that allows you to translate the speech of your interlocutor in real time – and immediately by voice. So far, it only translates from English and Spanish, but Google promises to add more languages ​​in the coming weeks. The feature preserves the speaker’s original voice and conveys intonation and emotions, which can facilitate international communication. The translator is already available in beta for $20 per month and will soon be introduced in Workspace business accounts.

Airtable has released AI Assistant that allows to build and modify apps, create fields, automations and interfaces using natural language. No code, no drag and drop, no point and click. Besides building operations the Assistant can answer any question of your data, for example about the state of your business which assets have performed best in past campaigns or trending themes in customer feedback. Airtable Assistant will analyze your data and deliver a comprehensive overview of what’s happening, along with recommendations for what to do next. It can also instantly scan tens of thousands of pages of attached document and web pages to identify and extract text—and transform that text into structured data.

OpenStack community has released the new version of its cloud computing platform OpenStack Epoxy with a range of new features, security enhancements and hardware enablement improvements, Epoxy is poised to support more complex and demanding workloads while offering more efficient management tools for cloud administrators. A significant upgrade comes to Manila (OpenStack’s shared file system service). It allows now to modify the access level and gives administrators greater control over who can modify and access shared data. Octavia (OpenStack’s load balancing service) now supports custom neutron security groups for load balancer Virtual IP ports. Thus administrators can ensure that only approved traffic types are allowed to access the load balancer, further reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
